DESCRIPTION:Let’s hit the dance floor HSD stylie. This HSD event will be jam-packed with fun\, frolics and in some instances\, lots of booze. \n\nPARTY TIME & AWARDS\nPHOTO BOOTH\nFULLY LICENSE BAR\nBANGING TUNES\n\nEach under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. \nYou can order your tickets here and we’ll pass on your wristbands on your next visit to HQ. \n18 & Over £10 / Child £8 – Our tickets are slightly higher this year and this will go back into our school for a very special project. \nAWARDS \nEach year we have our yearly HSD awards presented at our party at Dukinfield Town Hall in November\, or via zoom and delivered to your house if there is a pandemic or zombie apocalypse.  Each student’s progress\, attitude\, attendance\, interaction with other students is reviewed and taken into consideration during the nominee process and here’s some more on what it takes to get ‘nomed’ \nMOST IMPROVED CATEGORIES (not active in show year)\n– Students work ethic in class\n– Clear improvement through determination across the 12 month period (November to November)\n– Attitude inside & outside of the studio\n– Attendance \nBEST ALL-ROUNDER CATEGORY\n– Students work ethic in class\n– Best student progression & ability maintained across the 12 month period (November to November)\n– To qualify for all-rounder the student must take part in Ballet\, Tap\, Modern & Funk\n– Attitude inside & outside of the studio\n– Attendance \nSTUDENTS CHOICE AWARDS\nDuring the exciting lead up to the awards evening\, each HSD student is asked to place a vote of up to 3 HSDers who they feel have inspired them in any way during the past 12 months. It’s so lovely to see the nominations put forward by the students and to see how many of our HSDers are inspiring others. \nHSDer OF THE YEAR\nChosen by Miss S & Miss J based on a student who completely embodies what being an HSDer is all about. Attitude\, commitment\, work ethic\, a willingness to push themselves to achieve and who helps and inspires other HSDers inside & outside of the Happy Quarters.

DESCRIPTION:Our next examination session is Sunday 15th October\, 2023. We’ve never before had so many NATD exams in one year but our students are enjoying the process and reward so why not. \n\nDid you know that our student’s NATD Graded exams are recognised qualifications? \n\n\nCheck out the table below   \n\n\n\nOUR EXAM PROCESS \n\n\n\n\nOur N.A.T.D. Examination sessions are held 2/3 times a year when we are not rehearsing for our school performances. When a pupil or student is ready to take an exam emails are issued containing the exam info date\, exam fee & when payment is due\, exam uniform/ costume\, grooming etc. Of course\, regular attendance & payment of lesson fees are compulsory to exam criteria plus students must be present at their last 2 classes. \nExam timetables are posted on the school app approximately 2 weeks prior to the exam session. \nExam results take approximately 3 weeks to arrive\, all exam classes then receive their awards at an open class which is at the normal timetable time but parents\, friends & family members may join us in the studio & watch\, take pictures\, applaud & generally beam with pride. \nWe have a 100% exam pass rate that we have maintained throughout our 50 years of teaching. DESCRIPTION:INSPIRATION SESSION #4  \nSuitable for Grades 1 & 2 | 3 weeks  | Wednesday 12th-19th-26th July 4.45-5.45 \nCost £15 \nPROGRESSING BALLET TECHNIQUE (PBT) \nThis is a revolutionary program to enhance ballet technique.  \nPBT focuses on core strength\, weight placement and alignment of the body with a gradual approach of carefully designed exercises and repetitions of these exercises that trigger their muscle memory.  \nThe program helps with injury prevention and rehabilitation and enhances the ability of athletes to perform at their best. It can be difficult for students to feel which muscles initiate the correct alignment in training. DESCRIPTION:THIS SUNDAY! \n\nDid you know that our student’s NATD Graded exams are recognised qualifications? \n\n\nCheck out the table below   \n\n\n\nOUR EXAM PROCESS \n\n\n\n\nOur N.A.T.D. Examination sessions are held 2/3 times a year when we are not rehearsing for our school performances. When a pupil or student is ready to take an exam emails are issued containing the exam info date\, exam fee & when payment is due\, exam uniform/ costume\, grooming etc. Of course\, regular attendance & payment of lesson fees are compulsory to exam criteria plus students must be present at their last 2 classes. \nExam timetables are posted on the school app approximately 2 weeks prior to the exam session. \nExam results take approximately 3 weeks to arrive\, all exam classes then receive their awards at an open class which is at the normal timetable time but parents\, friends & family members may join us in the studio & watch\, take pictures\, applaud & generally beam with pride. \nWe have a 100% exam pass rate that we have maintained throughout our 50 years of teaching. DESCRIPTION:🤟 Inspiration Sessions #3 | Breaking Foundations | Six Step.\nMiss J will be holding a pop up surgery session to focus on the Breaking foundation of the Six Step. Deemed the foundation of most floorwork flows\, This session will provide students with an opportunity to concentrate on refining their technique\, fluidity\, and overall grasp of the six step\, kickstarting their footwork proficiency.\nAimed at Grade 1 & above level. \nBreaking Knowledge 🤙\nOn the East Coast of America\, Breaking emerged from the Bronx and quickly gained popularity at block parties\, parks\, and street corners. According to the media\, Breaking served as a means to resolve conflicts peacefully on the dance floor\, instead of engaging in street fights. However\, when speaking to the original Bboys of that time\, they insist that dancing actually sparked just as many fights in their neighbourhoods\, as egos were often inflated and bruised. \nDuring the early 1980s\, Breaking gained worldwide commercialisation through movies like Beat Street\, making it the dance style of that era. \nIn 2024\, Breaking will be featured as a medal event at the Paris 2024 Olympics. This decision aims\, in part\, to enhance the appeal of the Olympic Games among younger audiences and acknowledge the cultural significance and increasing popularity of this street dance style. It is anticipated that Breaking will attract a diverse range of participants from various countries and backgrounds\, providing a platform for the sport to gain broader exposure and global recognition. Countries are heavily investing in training dancers across all aspects of the Breaking culture.
