That’s a wrap! The first half of our 50th year has most certainly been a memorable one filled with fantastic opportunities, achievements & as always good vibes plus proudly maintaining our 100% examination pass rate. Three NATD exam sessions & numerous exam presentations, workshops & Pop Ups galore, celebrating A-levels & GCSES coming to an end, fund raising, engagements new babies new houses new jobs, new Barre 73-Espresso Yourself, NATD Scholarship Heats, Birmingham Hippodrome performances with Chance2Dance, NBS Summer School, BBC Breakfast, TDCI Scholarship Final, celebrating

It’s been a very special end to our term, celebrating our dance family & HSDers that now prepare to spread their wings & start a new chapter at various universities & theatre schools across the country. We have many years of memories to treasure & we shall miss them terribly but know that they will go on to succeed in all that they do. About Friday 11th August… Our HSD73 family celebrated Hip Hops 50th birthday by sharing The Five Pillars of Hip Hop with our HSD Funkateers. 1/ Breaking (The dance) 2/ Writing (Graffiti) 3/ Emceeing (The wordsmith/rapper) 4/ Dj’ing (The controller of the party) 5/ Knowledge (Understanding the elements of the Hip Hop culture) The philosophy of true Hip Hop culture is PEACE, LOVE, UNITY & HAVING FUN and that’s exactly what our HSDers brought to HQ led by our very own lover of all things Hip Hop Culture, our Funk guru, the legend

Yet another special weekend for the memory box. Each & every student danced & performed to their best, the dance fam team were as always the greatest support network in this business we call show & we continue to be so very grateful & proud of our 49 year old school of dance. To be approaching our Golden Anniversary & still be thriving as we are is truly humbling… what an achievement for a small dance community & family business. WHAT A DAY!!! We could not be prouder of our girls at the NATD Theatrical Scholarship Finals in Birmingham yesterday. Creative Contemporary Choreography with Parent Performance Friday 14th June (5 Weeks) 7.15 til 8.15pm Available for Grade 2’s Get your creative ?‘s flowing with this introduction into the world of choreography led by your HSD teachers. We’ll start you off with a Miss S spesh contemporary combo & then guide you on how to continue this with your own unique flavour using different styles of music, props & emotions through choreographic techniques. RAG 'N' BONE MAN TRIPLE BILL Monday 29th April, Monday 13th April, Monday 20th May Cost: £12 for the three weeks This innovative class will now take the form of a Pop Up to give all Grade 5/6 & Vocational Ballet students the opportunity to enjoy a free, more informal & creative approach to the ballet class plus a chance to develop artistry, performance skills & confidence.
